Youth Alliance for Change Kenya (YACK) was founded in 2012 by a group of sexual and gender minority individuals in response to the discrimination and lack of access to essential services they faced. Based in Up-country Kenya, with a focus on Nyanza Province and four surrounding counties, YACK is a youth-led Non-State Community Based Organization (CBO) dedicated to defending the rights of vulnerable rural LGBTQ communities.
We lead the charge in attaining legal health, wellbeing, and safety for sexual and gender minorities. Our focus areas include HIV prevention, mental health, and sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) treatments. Through community-driven initiatives, we challenge oppression norms and promote inclusion, tolerance, and diversity.
We envisions fighting against pandemic, injustices and building a healthier and more equitable world which values and respects differences regardless of diversity, race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexuality, gender, bodily, disability of identity circumstances.
